Around Louisville: Pennsylvania Run Presbyterian Church and Cemetery.
In 1840, the Pennsylvania Run Presbyterian church building you see here replaced an older log structure likely dating back to the early 1800s, possibly even earlier. This structure replaced a log structure had served as the meeting house as early as 1789 when a minister was sent by the Presbytery of Transylvania. The area was settled by a number of pioneers from Pennsylvania which is how this church and creek or “run” nearby was named.
